Typography rather than map graphics – what makes the Art Poster so special?
The BMW Berlin Marathon takes runners on a 42.195-kilometre journey through the city’s history: past the Reichstag, through the Brandenburg Gate, along Kurfürstendamm and back to the heart of the city. For many runners, it is the race of a lifetime – and deserves a memento that doesn’t look like a map on the wall, but rather like a design object.
The Art Poster uses only typography and negative space. There is no GPS track, no map background and no route visualisation. Instead, the focus is on your name, your finishing time and the date – set within a minimalist layout inspired by book covers, sports magazines and minimalist poster design.
Three styles – one concept
Mono features a large solid colour panel in black, red or yellow with white typography. The style is direct and poster-like – striking as a single piece on the wall, powerful when displayed as part of a gallery group.
The editorial design is inspired by the aesthetics of sports magazines: light-coloured paper, clear font sizes, and a vertical column listing the route length, edition and personal details. Understated, timeless and adaptable to almost any interior.
Editorial Navy translates this same structure into a deep blue colour scheme with sand-coloured text. For anyone seeking depth and warmth without compromising on typographical precision.
Art poster or GPX poster?
If you’d like to turn your personal GPS track into a map graphic, the Berlin Marathon GPX Poster is the perfect choice. If you’re looking for a design-focused poster without any geodata – featuring typography, style and your personal finisher details – the Art Poster is the better option. Both versions can be personalised in real time using the online editor and are available to download or as a printed copy.
