What is the Badlands Gravel Race?
The Badlands Gravel Race is an ultra-gravel event through the Badlands in the province of Almería, Spain – one of the starkest and most striking landscapes in Europe. With the Long Course covering 730 km and around 11,000 metres of climbing, it ranks among the toughest gravel races in the world. Riders with less time can opt for the Short Course over 360 km instead.
The route through the Badlands
The route runs over dusty gravel tracks, dry riverbeds and rugged ridgelines that feel straight out of a western film – in fact, many classic spaghetti westerns were shot in this very region. Between barren plateaus and deeply cut valleys, technical sections alternate with long, exposed straights.
